Introduction

      The College of Human Ecology is composed of four departments - Food Science and Technology (BS and MS program), Child Care and Education, Applied Cosmetology, Graduate Institute of Cosmetic Science and Technology, and the newly established department, ie, Department of Hair Styling and Design. 

   The Research and Development Center for Industrial Applied Biotechnology, and Center for Food and Cosmetic Inspection as well as Safety Evaluation. Currently, there are 61 full-time faculty members with 81% assistant, associate and full professors. The Department of Food Science and Technology offers daytime 4-year and 2-year college programs, nighttime 4-year and 2-year college programs for full-time and part-time students. The Department of Child Care and Education offers daytime and nighttime 4-year programs as well as a nighttime 2-year program for part-time students. The Department of Applied Cosmetology offers daytime and nighttime 4-year and 2-year programs as well as a nighttime 2-year program for part-time students. Currently there are 3854 students in total. For graduate program, a two-year study is required for master degree.

   The College of Human Ecology emphasizes the execution of ideas for advanced technical and vocational education, and reinforces the combination of learning, evaluation and application to elevate students toward top professionals persons with academic knowledge and practical certificates.


   The College of Human Ecology pursues academic advance and Students training for work. To provide superb environment for teaching, research and service, the buildings belonging to College of Human Ecology include Food and Nutrition Buildings I, II as well as Living Application Building. Subsidiary to the College of Human Ecology are the Research Center for Industrial Applied Biotechnology (RCIAB), Food and Cosmetic Quality Evaluation and Analysis Center, High valued Instrument Center. Locations and facilities for practical training are day care center, beauty salon, cafe, restaurant and bakery, professional consultation centers for nutrition and beauty care, and skill test units for nanny, beautician, baker and chef, laboratories for chemistry, food analysis, cosmetics manufacture and cosmetics inspection etc. In addition, various programs have been offered to broaden student learning and increase their employment rate. The main purpose is to educate students what they need to learn for their future career in related industries. 

   The College of Human Ecology has already established teaching and research centers for the training of our students and people in the society so that they can obtain professional skills and start their career.
